These combination pliers see the most use in MIG welding applications for changing tips and cutting 0.35" MIG wire. They hold up to the task and are very well built, with perfectly matched/machined teeth. The spring-on/off feature also comes in handy when doing a lot of repetitive work say changing 10-20 MIG tips in a row. I have used them for removing broken studs and tooling dowels, definitely a hard set of teeth on these, no marring of the tool, but leaves gouges in stainless steel tooling dowels, which means it grips very well, something even the best SOG/Leatherman multitool can't do.
