This is a knife that could be an heirloom. The materials, fit and finish of the overall knife are superb. I actually considered giving it one less star because of the sharpness of the blades as delivered. I decided that would detract from its actual value. Instead, I thought a word of advice would be a better thing to do. The cutting edges were not balanced on each side or polished. Be prepared to dress up the blades. Base on the effort it took to shape and sharpen the cutting edges, the blade steel is strong and it will hold an edge for a long time.
The opening and closing spring action of the blades is perfect. It's not a locking blade, but when it's opened, it is securely open and the same for closed. This is a strong good looking work knife and I would expect it to last longer than a lifetime.
