Typical awesome Tilman quality leather, but the halo is rather bulky. If you are a pipe welder or donstructuralnwork in cramped spaces like indo, this hood may not work without some modification because the halo plus screen are about the same dimensions as an ordinary hood, and gets in the way often times in the same way an ordinary hard hood will. I removed the halo, added some padding to the lens frame and used a few elastic bands to keep it on. Its much more compact this way.

Additionally, the lens doesn't close very easily on mine. I have to close it and then give it a good tap for it to lock closed. Too much of a tap in my opinion.

There's probably a better design out there, but it probably won't have the same level of materials quality.
