If you want a heavy duty knife you will be happy with the esee 5, even after you read about its 1/4 inch blade and its 16oz weight you will
still be surprised what a beast this knife is.

I bought the black blade with the plain edge. It comes with a kydex sheath and a kydex panel with a clip that screws onto the sheath.
I didn't think i would like that setup but when i clipped it to my belt it actually rides pretty nice.

The 1095 steel can rust if not protected, which is not a problem for me alittle rem-oil does the trick.

I bought the esee 4 a year ago and liked it so much i just recently (3/20/12) bought the 5 . I can't say enough about the quality of these esee knives.
Be careful when you buy one cause soon after you will want another. When your wife says " Tom where is that 100 dollars for my new dress" and you go UMMMM? ,,we will know where it went lol.
