The blade steel, N690Co Stainless Steel, is a stain-proof steel, in the same class as Spyderco's H1 steel: *look up List of Blade Materials on wikipedia*

The handle is aluminum with some kind of non-slip finish, it's wide and heavy. The blade is heavy as well having an 0.19 inch thick spine. All that makes for 6.3 ounces weight. The closed knife, reversed, fits well in my fist with thumb placed above the pivot and a skull-crusher pommel.

A National Stock Number 1095-01-535-5724 is engraved into the blade. COMBAT DEPLOYED is engraved into the spine.

For a mid to high end folder, it's hard to open one handed. This gets easier after breaking it in a bit, oiling it, and practicing at one hand opening. The silver lining here: this is not going to accidentally open on you.

Product Description

Balance is a state of equilibrium or equal distribution.  In our case it’s an Ed Schempp folder that is symmetrically identical on both ends when the folder is closed.  Odd looks aside, when held in the hand it’s ergonomically proportional and a natural fit. The VG-10 blade is full-flat ground and arcs upward a radical curve with a deep finger choil.  When the index finger is positioned in the choil, the cutting edge aligns with the forearm moving the blade’s weight back and the center of gravity toward the cutting edge where it responds like a natural extension of the hand. The enlarged Spyderco Round Hole is dead center on the blade when closed and perfectly off-centered when open, positioning the thumb for flowing one-hand operation, justifying the name Balance. Handle scales are gray carbon fiber and assembled with screws for cleaning and adjustment.  Four-way, left/right, tip-up/tip-down hourglass clip, clips discreetly in a pocket.  Piped lanyard.  Symphonic fit and finish.

Spyderco Balance Carbon Fiber PlainEdge Knife Review

I own several Spyderco knives. This is my least favorite. The quality is excellent as always and the design is visually interesting but the balanced design makes it hard to get the open direction correct with one hand. If I can remember which end is open, then opening with one hand is OK given the small size of the knife.

Same issue with the integral blade lock, hard to do one handed or without looking. The Ladybug back lock is much easier.

purchased this for work, i do lots of interior trim work and we have a lot of 7mm bolts. this socket works great and magnet has plenty of strength to hold onto the screws. This socket replaced my snap on magnetic that fell into the tool abyss. This unit works just as well as the Millers and Lincolns but at half the cost. Free shipping too! Perfect addition to the garage, shop or man cave.
The only improvement I can see is that they neglect to offer a pinout diagram for the power cord to aid in wiring the plug. Wire colors are Black, White and Green which can lead to some logical assumptions but I hate to make assumptions particularly with 230VAC 50A service. To their credit the response to email for product clarification was timely and accurate. Black and White are both hot, Green is neutral. This should be specifically stated in the product owner's manual.
Unit is spool gun ready, just flip the switch. Set up for FCAW but polarity is a cinch to reverse for GMAW, just add your favorite bottle of shield gas.

Jet JNS-4031KL 3/8-inch Reverse Drill 1/2 HP W/Keyless Chuck Review

I use this drill for almost every task including driving screws. I think their variable speed statement is a little lacking. I didn't buy it for that fact so it doesn't matter to me. Trying to pull the trigger slowly never works. I would recommend at least a 3/8" if not a 1/2" air hose no longer than 50 feet in order to keep the line pressure up.
