Purchased these cardboard cutters and their wider throated version to test for possible replacement of traditional box cutters in a liquor store where we must cut open a lot of boxes and later flatten the boxes for recycling.

Positives: Very light weight; Easy & Safe to carry in shirt or pants pocket or on lanyard; Very safe to use for cutting cardbd; stronger than it looks; Blades are good metal and remain sharp through many cuts despite narrow width; Works fine for cutting brown paper used to bundle wrap our retail packaging bags and to cut packaging straps.

Negatives: Cardboard that has been moistened or bumped even slightly at start of cut or even mid-way along cut will cause material to bunch up in the throat approaching the blade and stop the cutter from progressing; Even strong hands & arms cannot force the cutter through this crushed mass leading to a process of ripping the cutter out of the cardboard and restarting the cut, often several times, until it cuts smoothly again; In areas where the cardboard is double thickness, Klever Kutter std throat width does not cut all the way through both layers ( I tried the wider throat version which performed better on thicker cardboard, but would bind more frequently on single thickness).

Summary: The increased safety factor fails to justify the loss of efficiency compared to traditional box cutters. Requires as much or more training to show users the proper techniques for effective cutting.
