I collect pocket knives and I believe the CRKT Pocket Classic knives represent the the best bargains in a high quality pocket knife available on the market today. These knives exhibit a level of fit and finish that is hard to find in a production knife today. In my opinion they rival Case pocket knives for overall quality of execution, but at only 2/3 of the retail price.

How does CRKT do this? Simple. Lower production costs. These knives are made in China using all Chinese components. But in this case 'Made in China' does not mean cheap. The blades are very well ground and carry a nice satin finish. Everything is precisely fitted - the handle scales, bolsters, liners, etc. The blades are all properly centered in the blade well. There are no gaps or other evidence of sloppy fitting. The entire knife is highly polished - even the inner faces of the blade springs, something a user would never look at - are polished mirror bright! The blades all have an excellent 'walk and talk'; they snap open and closed smoothly and with just the right amount of tension.

China is proving itself the up and comer in the quality cutlery industry. They are proving they can produce a very high quality product at a very reasonable price. If the CRKT Pocket Classic line is an example of what they are capable of, then they have already arrived!

Schrade Walden Senior Stockman Pocket Knife with Republic of Texas Shield (Maroon Bone, 6.9-Inch) Review

This little beauty is a keeper! All three blades came sharp out of the box; a bit stiff, but that is a testament to the knife's quality, I think. Additionally, the design is superb, as well.

The "Republic of Texas" logo that's inset on one side of the handle is quite small and difficult to see, if you have weaker vision as I do, but it is nicely done and adds a sweet touch to an already impressive folder.

I highly recommend this one!

Elite Forces Reconnaissance Knife Review

This ia a great blade to leave in its sheath and to use only in case of an emergency. The blade is great for a $20 knife, but it doesn't seem to hold its edge well. I used it to cut rope, and after only about 30 or so uses, the blade started to become dull. I managed to sharpen it, but it went dull again even faster afterwards.

However, it's initial edge is extremely sharp, so if you are genuinely going to wear it as a combat/emergency-only knife, it's perfect. As a daily use knife, go with a higher quality blade.
