for 15 years I have used this knife as a work knife and I got to say this is my favorite. I work in a warehouse and the way the blade is shaped is perfect for opening boxes, cutting shrink wrap off pallets, cutting plastic ties everything. the shape of the handle and the finger hole makes it feel like part of your hand its so comfortable. it would also make a wicked self defense tool. I have it hanging upside down on my side and can get it out, cut something open and have it back in its sheath in a matter of seconds. after using it for years its second nature. a few words of warning though. the inward curvature of the blade does make it alittle awkward to sharpen. you cant use a flat stone you need sharpening sticks. it is decent steel though and will hold an edge along time. it also isn't a real good camping/survival knife. again the shape of the blade isn't good for carving or skinning(maybe gutting). I just replaced my 1st one after 15 years because its been sharpened so many times its just wearing down the blade but it has been a work knife used every day so I have to give it 5 stars. I do wish they would make a plain edge one with the orange handle. sometimes im tired when I get off work and just throw it down somewhere and cant find it in the morning.

The item in question says: "new" again amazon you disappoint me. The item i received had scratches on it and it looked like it was dropped tossed and just not handled well. Yes it is a hammer. Yes I am going to use it, BUT when an item is being shipped NEW it is expected to be shipped as such. Why else would i pay x amount of dollars for an item that's new if it isn't? If it were the other way around wouldn't you want your item in pristine condition when it arrived?

So for a rating of amazon a 4 stars. Shipping was fast. Order details were quickly uploaded, but minus a star for quality in product provided by the company and handling.
