the pocket knife was purchased for my husband for Father's Day and was supposed to be new. The knife was not "new" but maybe a returned item for resale by Amazon. The blade had already been sharpened some and the 'Uncle Henry" name plate fell off with-in days of me giving it to him. He was very unhappy about not be able to find the name plate so it could maybe be glued back on.Probably will need to pay more attention in the future on items like that to make sure they really are new.
