Anza USA Bastard Drop Point Hunter Knife Full Tang AZBRL Review

First impression is I'm pleasantly surprised. I had to click the buy button last week because it just seemed an interesting knife, and it turns out that it is. The file serations part remaining seems to have been smoothed down a bit which is nice. This particular model is more handle than blade and with the grip design is designed for more close in work like small game and general utility. The thick blade came well sharpened in a scandi grind and it should last a long time with proper care. The sheath is thick and fits well and it won't fall out without some force applied. I may update this later after it's seen some work and I find out how well it takes and keeps an edge and generally holds up. I'll be looking at future purchases from Anza, and the seller (Rockies Gear Store) processed and shipped the order fast.

I have had a DW006 drill since they came out. This is the most powerful cordless drill I have used. I checked out the other 24 volt drills and they don't come close. This thing has the torque of a big corded 1/2 inch drill, but it is also a great hammer drill! The special chuck holds bits solidly, even when drilling in concrete all day. The drill has a special "spindle lock" feature which locks the transmission when you press the button so you can really get the chuck tight. It is heavier than the 18 volt DW997, but for real heavy duty work the weight should not be that big of a deal. The side handle is a great feature and it has a metal clamp, not like the plastic of the other brands. The drill is really rugged, like a big corded drill. There is also a new AC converter attachment that they sell as an accessory.

I discovered during a recent repair that I had no 21mm combination wrench (perhaps it's in some other guy's toolbox?). I ordered this one on the basis of J. Malechowski's review, and I have to agree. Leatherman 830300 c301 Folding Straight/Serrated-Edge Knife Review

This is a quality knife as you would expect from Leatherman. It's an attractive knife as well and looks great in person. Grip is excellent with finger support in all the right places. The thumb rest (next to the thumb stud) is a little feature that goes a long way when you are using the knife. It's obvious that Leatherman put a lot of thought into the design. This knife is well-built and sturdy yet weighs only 2.9 ounces, and I love the sharp 2.8" plain/serrated blade for versatility. Closed length is 4.0" and open length is 6.8".

The "Blade Launcher" system works extremely well, effectively making this knife a real one-hander. This springless system is successful due to a good design and high-quality, low-friction parts.

At this price, this is a perfect everyday-carry knife for me. It's neither cheap nor expensive. It will definitely get the job done for basic use, but you won't have a heart attack if it gets damaged or lost. Overall, an excellent product.
